03/11/2011 Parex banka sells its leasing company in Azerbaijan AS Parex banka has sold its Azerbaijan subsidiary, leasing company Parex Lizinq and Faktorinq, to SWITLAR investments B.V., a private limited liability company from the Netherlands. This is already the second transaction of sale of AS Parex banka leasing companies abroad where Raidla Lejins & Norcous have rendered legal advice to AS Parex Banka.
31/10/2011 RR Alliance Finance & Corporate Steering Group Seminar On October 21, 2011 RR Alliance Finance & Corporate Steering Group seminar on the Green Paper on the EU corporate governance framework was held in Tallinn. The panel consisting of representatives of five RR Alliance jurisdictions discussed the most relevant issues raised in the Green Paper. Amongst the speakers at the seminar was Nick Eastwell of Kinstellar who introduced the participants of the seminar with background of the Green Paper.

04/07/2011 OTKRITIE will acquire GE Money Bank Latvia and its subsidiaries On 28 June 2011 OTKRITIE Financial Corporation JSC, one of the leading Russian banking groups which offers its clients and partners the full array of investment banking, commercial banking, and investment management services, and GE Capital, one of the world's largest financial service providers, have signed an agreement where OTKRITIE Financial Corporation JSC will acquire AS GE Money Bank Latvia and its subsidiaries - AS GE Money Atklatais Pensiju Fonds and IPS GE Money Asset Management.
17/06/2011 AS ELKO GRUPA plans to extend the initial public offering AS ELKO GRUPA and its shareholders plan to extend the initial public offering of up to 2,334,457 shares of AS ELKO GRUPA in the second half of 2011 or in the first half of 2012. The offering will be made to the public in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia and to institutional investors in and outside Latvia. Following allocation of the shares, applications will be made for listing of the shares on the stock exchanges of at least two EU Member States, including NASDAQ OMX Riga. The initial public offering is subject to final approval by the general meeting of shareholders of AS ELKO GRUPA and by the selling shareholders.

09/02/2011 AS Stora Enso Latvija wins the case in the dispute with the State Revenue Service At the end of 2010 AS Stora Enso Latvija, one of the biggest forestry companies in Latvia, won the case in the dispute with the State Revenue Service. The Administrative Department of the Supreme Court Senate rejected the appeal of the State Revenue Service regarding the judgment of the Regional Administrative Court by which the judgment of the District Administrative Court was upheld. The District Administrative Court revoked decision of the State Revenue Service.
